Street Smart, hosted by Mike Sapraicone on Long Island News Radio (103.9 FM), offers a daily perspective on current news events. Its name derives from Mike’s careers as a first-grade NYPD detective and founder and CEO of Squad Security, Inc., a global protective services agency. A native of Queens, NY, Mike worked the streets of New York City as a respected police investigator for two decades during the “bad old days” of high crime rates.

On Street Smart, Mike strives to be the voice reason on issues like law enforcement, criminal justice policy, and politics. The show often features guests from those fields, as well as listener call-ins. Mike is always amenable to having guests with interesting stories, including those from the world of non-profits who serve their communities with noble endeavors.
